Dr. Phillip Ahn is originally from Southern California and moved to Gainesville during the summer of 2020.
He attended Cal Poly Pomona for his B.S. Degree and Western University of Health Sciences for his D.V.M. He knew he wanted to become a veterinarian in high school and couldn't be happier with his decision. Patient care, client education/communication, and sympathizing with animals is very important to him. Besides their barks, meows, change in behavior, and subtle/unusual signs, he depends on the owners to be their voice. His experience as a veterinary technician and a lifetime of having pets have molded him into the veterinarian he is today.
The human-animal bond and ultimately their quality of life is a priority. His gray, temperamental cat Ethyl (named while taking organic chemistry) and scraggly terrier mutt Poppy (rescued from a shelter in CA) remind him to treat all his patients as if they were his own.
Outside of work, he enjoys exploring Florida and trying new places to eat with his girlfriend. He's open to any and all recommendations you could make to him!
